Why GSM1900?This GSM variation is presently in use only in the US. If you travel there often and plan to use a handphone for that all-important business call, this would be the network option that you would be looking into. GSM1900 is like GSM1800, sporting a more "local" use.
To have your handphone work with a GSM1900 network, chances are the phone must be purchased in US. Else grab the only tri band handphone available in the market--Motorola's L series of tri band phones which allows one to makes call in the US to Singapore and vice versa.
