Bills too high? Have you left the meter running??If you are a person who doesn't check to make sure that calls are definitely over after hanging up, and doesn't see why someone would want a flip-open phone that hangs up automatically and think “After all, it's just as easy to push the End button, right?, then READ ON
Not finishing a call can have dire consequences, both personally and financially. Imagine making a call to a significant other, getting into a fight, and then, thinking that you have hung up the phone, discovering 20 minutes later that you haven't. And what if you spent those 20 minutes telling tales about your loved one to a friend, not imagining that the loved one could possibly be listening? That's a sad tale, one that ends in a lost relationship--and a bill for an extra 20 minutes of phone usage at 90 cents per minute.
Even the most conscientious caller has to be alert. If a phone isn't properly turned off or disabled and something bumps into it, it's possible to place a call inadvertently. You could end up sending someone the soundtrack of your morning commute, or mistakenly telling your boss exactly where to put that proposal.
MAKE SURE and..
Make sure you've hit the End button before meticulously listing all the faults of the person you've supposedly just hung up on. Some mobile phones require that you press End twice to finish a call. Other phones have a hold feature that temporarily disables the buttons, so make sure that the hold feature is off when you try to end your calls (and that it's on when you're not calling anyone). In other words, know your phone. Phones like those in Sony's D-Wave Zuma line solve the problem on the hardware level; as soon as you fold the microphone arm up, calling is disabled. Whatever your phone type, be vigilant. Even if an accidental call doesn't cost you a friend, it could cost you a bundle.
