A rumour hinted Lenovo was going to collapse the ZUK brand and instead refocus the smartphone business under the Moto brand. The company debunked those rumours, but the Lenovo website redirecting to Motorola.com.cn didn’t kill the rumours completely.

Zuk Smartphone

It seems there might be more to it, however. The new website only shows laptops, tablets, smart home gadgets and so forth, without any mobile phones on display. Former Lenovo VP and CEO of the ZUK brand hinted on his Weibo page that the ZUK Z3 may be coming, with 4 different events across 3 months, between July and September. Chang Cheng seemed to confirm someone’s question if the device would be coming. While later responses were not as explicit, he didn’t disclose the brand was dead. He was shown blogging from a Galaxy S8 smartphone, which seems uncommon.

The ZUK Z3 is supposedly the next ZUK phone, perhaps known as the ZUK Z3 Nax, powered by the the unannounced Snapdragon 836, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. ZUK is possibly going to release its smartphones as an independent brand, with four launch events over the next 3 months as the CEO hinted.
