The Xiaomi Mi 6 may instead use the Snapdragon 821
The Xiaomi Mi 6 up to this point has been tipped to feature a Snapdragon 835 CPU in the hood, but that may not be the case anymore. Instead the flagship will be using Qualcomm’s most current chipset in the form of the Snapdragon 821.
Taking into account Samsung’s own demand of the Snapdragon 835 and the apparent shortage of chips, things do add up, even though Xiaomi Mi 6 was earlier said to use a Snapdragon 835 of a lower clock frequency due Samsung going after all the higher clock speed variants. Kevin Wang of IHS Markit did however assure that the Mi 6 will get enough supply of the Snapdragon 835, so only time will tell.
Many are anticipating Xiaomi’s next flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 6, expected to release in April. There’s been a few leaks already, and more still coming in.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 will also have 2 screen variants, a 5.15-inch model and 5.7-inch model, both with slightly different designs from each other. The larger model would supposedly also have dual cameras on the rear similar to the iPhone 7 Plus.
Other info says the Xiaomi Mi 6 will have a thickness of 8mm, 3200 mAh battery, 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The larger model, currently known as the Mi 6 Plus, will have 64GB storage instead. The Mi 6 will start at ~$289, while the Mi 6 Plus will be around USD360 (MYR 1,603.08 ).
