Travelling With The vivo NEX – Can It Replace Your DSLR?

The vivo NEX has been in the market for quite a while and yet there are still conversations surrounding it, thanks to its unique features that until today still sets the bar high. The NEX’s Ultra FullView Display comes in the form of a 6.59-inch Super AMOLED display with a 91.24% screen-to-body ratio. Achieving this requires several technologies that help free up more space for the screen on NEX. The 8MP Elevating Front Camera hides in the body of the phone and elevates in just one second to allow consumers to take selfies exactly as they have in the past.

The NEX also replaces the traditional earpiece speaker entirely with its Screen SoundCasting Technology by turning the screen into an actual speaker. This technology not only reduces the top bezels, but also enhances sound quality with more powerful bass as well as softer, smoother treble. To further reduce the bezels, the NEX also adopts vivo’s 3rd generation In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology that has improved in both accuracy and speed, following Vivo’s successes with the vivo X20UD and X21. This technology hides the fingerprint sensor underneath the display while still delivering fingerprint access on the front of the phone.

Then there’s the flagship specs that include 8GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, Adreno 630 GPU and 4,000mAh battery that can last all day.

With so many impressive tech packed in, the cameras on the NEX often take a backseat in the eyes of many but it is no less impressive. vivo has upgraded the camera with a new generation Sony IMX363 lens with 1.4μm large pixel sensor, f/1.8 aperture and high precision 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) combined with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). With a range of AI Photography features such as AI Scene Recognition, AI HDR, AI Filters and AI Portrait Framing, the NEX helps users take great photos regardless of the surroundings.

The vivo NEX is certainly capable of replacing your DSLR if you intend to move around light and easy. “The best camera is the one that’s with you”, as they say. Ivan Choy from OneMachi certainly puts that saying to good use when he recently traveled to Portugal with only the vivo NEX as his camera. Not only did he manage to travel around without the burden of carrying heavy gear, he also captured a number of exceptionally-stunning shots using nothing more than just his mobile phone.

While smartphones still have a long way to go before they can match the photo quality only DSLRs can produce, the sheer convenience and portability factor means smartphones are more often than not the better choice for general photo-taking. AI technologies make it so easy for just about anyone to take great-looking shots with just a simple tap of a button without needing to learn the intricate and often overwhelming details of professional photography.

With the vivo NEX, you can travel easy knowing that you have a device capable of capturing not only amazing shots, but also unforgettable memories in detail.
