The Snapdragon 865 beats everyone else

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 855+ just over a month ago, a revised version of a chip almost all top-end smartphones use in the first half of 2019. Many manufacturers will likely be using it for the last devices of the year, as 2020 will bring the Snapdragon 865.

It seems it’s well under development, as an alleged first test got leaked. Geekbench showed the Snapdragon 865 scoring 12946 in multi-core. The Apple A12  Bionic chip, the current reference point, lags 2 thousand points behind. For single-core however, the 865 scores 4160, behind the A12 Bionic (4700) and Samsung Exynos 9825 (4500). The 865 is currently using a prototype device updated to Android Q, so it still has time to improve.

It appears Qualcomm would be launching two versions of the Snapdragon 865. Kona will be using the 5G Snapdragon X55 modem for 5G capability, and the classic LTE chip will be called Huracan.
