The Google Pixel 3a is easy to tear down

The good people over at iFixit has gotten their hands on the Google Pixel 3a, given us a glimpse into its build quality and innards.

Among other things, iFixit stated that the device is easy to open and does not require an iOpener. The screen was able to be popped off fairly easily without needing any heat, while the adhesive that secures the display to the smartphone was not much difficulty. iFixit also confirmed that its OLED panel was not made by Samsung and is instead made by LG.

Not all is hunky dory with the Pixel 3a of course, as it has its own construction issues. For one, the ribbon cables connecting multiple components in the device was obnoxious to work around. iFixit did however note that the cable management and layout this time around has been improved significantly.

Something to bear in mind in any case, as the Pixel lineup is not available here officially, although there are always third party options.
