The smartphone scene isn’t short on peculiar releases, and with foldable devices beginning to start centre stage, it was only a matter of time before we saw something quirky. The Pablo Escobar Fold 1 is such a device, mostly because of its name.

The Fold 1 is developed by Roberto Escobar, founder of Escobar Inc and brother to Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. The 7.8-inch device is fitted with a AMOLED FHD+ display and is powered by an Octa-core 2.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 SoC with either 128GB or 512Gb internal storage. The camera will be that of a dual shooter setup comprising 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors.
Nothing to write home about in terms of specifications, but what is interesting is the fact that the device is supposed to rival Apple. Pricing wise, the Fold 1 goes for USD 349 (MYR 1,419.67) for the base model and up to USD 499 for all the trimmings. At time of writing, the Escobar Fold 1 is only sold through the official website with free shipping.
