Returning bug on iOS 12.4 enables jailbreaking

With the reintroduction of a bug in iOS 12.4, it would appear that jailbreaking iPhones will be a thing again. The bug in question was already fixed in iOS 12.3 but somehow made its way back to the following iteration. In addition of facilitating jailbreaking, the bug also makes the device in question vulnerable to hacking as well.

A jailbreak for iOS 12.4 has been released by security researcher Pwn20wnd who notes that the returning bug may have already been abused for bad purposes. Ned Williamson of Google Project Zero corroborated the claim.

If you are planning to jailbreak, this is good news, but for everyone else, do take note of the vulnerability.
