Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 goes official, a Windows 8 slate

09 August 2012 – Lenovo has unveiled its first Windows 8 slate, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2.

It has a 10.1-inch IPS display with 1366 x 768 resolution pixels and is powered by Intel Atom processor. The tablet is also offers an array of connectivity options including 3G/4G, WiFi, NFC, a micro-HDMI port and a full USB port. There is a 2 megapixel front facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera.


With only 9.8mm of thickness, Lenovo managed to squeeze in a fingerprint reader and a pen. It is equipped with a 10-hour battery life. The tablet is a 32bit device and will be running on Windows 8 Pro.


For accessories, Lenovo offers an optional keyboard with pointing stick, and a dock that houses three USB ports, an Ethernet jack and a HDMI output.


No pricing information is announced yet, but the tablet will be available this coming October.
