Google Search app gets improved voice search for iPhone and iPad

09 August 2012 – Google first introduced the new voice search for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with its search app showing relevant information in the form of cards and a reply spoken in a natural way.
Now, Google is planning to bring it to the iOS platform. iPhone and iPad users can use the enhanced voice search by tapping the mic icon in Google Search app and user will get a similar reply as seen on the Android, minus the card layout. Of course, the app also uses its locational awareness feature such as displaying the nearest movie theatres available from your current location.
We suspect the voice search would be limited to web searches, rather than searching a person’s phone number in the contact list or to execute an app.
Google has spoken to The Verge that the new Google Search app will be available in a few days.
