07 August 2012 - HTC is reportedly working on a full HD screen into its next flagship smartphone, which according to the DigiTimes, is a 5-inch device that is expected to launch next month or October.
The publication reported an unusual resolution of 1794 x 1080p, which will most likely mean a full 1920 x 1080 screen, with 126 pixels reserved for onscreen navigational buttons. Buttons which were introduced for the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) built.
The existence of an HD HTC device is further supported by a GLBenchmark result from July, which mentioned the screen resolution and it being an Android device. Phonearena also makes mention of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz processor capable of beating other benchmark scores by 60%. For those keeping score, the device apparently managed an unheard off 13685 frames.
HTC isn’t taking its recent financial slump on the chin, and seems to be looking at some monster hardware to change its fortunes. And if this 5-inch flagship turns out to be true, it might just get everyone excited at the Taiwanese firm’s hardware again.
