iPad Mini to be announced at separate October event

27 August 2012 - AllThingsD reports that the 7.85-inch iPad Mini will be getting announced at a separate event fromthe iPhone 5. The next iPhone is currently believed to be announced on September 12.
The publication reports that Apple will unveil the iPad Mini at a separate event in October.
There is also speculation from Daring Fireball’s John Gruber that if the two flagship products were to be launched together, it would water down the attention given to the iPhone or the iPad.
Separating the launches around a month apart would allow Apple to dominate tech headlines for the holiday period.
If these rumours play out, we’ll see two important Apple devices being launch within the next two months.
