Sony Xperia Tablet leaks ahead of IFA, comes with Tegra 3 quad-core chip

31 July 2012 – Juicy details of the Sony Xperia Tablet are found on a German tech-site MobiFlip.

Apparently, the successor of the Sony Tablet S will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It carries the same 9.4-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution pixels as its predecessor, but it thinner and lighter than before. It also comes with 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1-megepixel front facing camera.

In addition, it supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g /n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. The tablet will have a 3G variant. Sony also planned to offer an array of accessories including a Microsoft Surface-like keyboard, colorful carrying cases, HDMI adapter and USB host adapter cable.

The PlayStation certified tablet has a recommended price of $449.99 (approx. RM 1400) for 16GB, $549.99 (approx. RM 1700) for 32GB and $649.99 (approx. RM 2000) for 64GB.
