Comparison – Nokia Lumia 900 vs Motorola Atrix 2
By Nigel Chew
20 July 2012 – The Nokia Lumia 900 is currently the company’s flagship device that is receiving the spotlight for being their last shot at regaining a foothold in the industry, while the Motorola Atrix 2 was overshadowed by other, more popular devices, even though it could stand on its own two feet.
The 127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm Lumia 900 makes it a slightly bigger device than the 126 x 66 x 10 mm Atrix 2. That said, the two devices manages to fit in the same 4.3-inch display, although the Atrix 2 offers more resolution at 540 x 960 pixels, as opposed to the Lumia 900’s 480 x 800 pixels.
Performance wise, the two are relatively on par, even though they are actually operating under different OSes – the Lumia 900 has only a single-core 1.4GHz processor, but handles the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango pretty well. On the other hand, the dual-core 1GHz processor on the Atrix 2 also does a fine job of handling the Gingerbread on it.
The two smartphones have a similar 8-megapixel shooter each, but from our own experience, Nokia’s offerings tend to perform better during photoshoots, so take that as you will.
To sum things up, the Nokia Lumia 900 and Motorola Atrix 2 are really solid releases by their respective manufacturers, and choosing between the two boils down to which operating system you like best.
