02 July 2012 – The dispute over the iPad name between Apple and Proview has reached a settlement. The Chinese court says that Apple must pay USD 60 million to settle the case over the ownership of the iPad name. Of course this is a small amount to pay compared to the potential legal complication that might cause Apple to stop selling their iPads in China. Apple claims that they have bought the global right to the iPad name since 2009, but Chinese authorities claimed that the ownership was never transferred in China.
