Windows Phone 8 to feature USB Mass Storage and Screenshot Capture
by Lim Pei Hao
18 July 2012 – USB mass storage and screenshot capture are two highly requested features from the users of Windows Phone.
Apparently, Microsoft has plans to incorporate these features into its upcoming Windows Phone 8. WPCentral has reported that Windows Phone 8 will support USB mass storage exclusively on the phone’s microSD card. This means you can transfer your files and documents to the card without going through Zune. Unlike Android devices which could access to both internal and external storage, access to Windows Phone’s internal storage is restricted due to security reasons.
In addition, both Apple iOS and Android have the screenshot capture feature baked into the operating system, but Windows does not support it. WPDang reports that Windows Phone 8 will have a native screenshot capture, so users can take screenshots by pressing the Windows and Camera key simultaneously.
Windows Phone 8 is expected to release this coming October.
