New iPhone will have a thinner and clearer display, says WSJ

18 July 2012 - Rumours for the new iPhone are winding up again, and the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Apple is working with three companies to develop a new screen technology that intends to trims a little bit off the iPhone.

The publication reports that the new in-cell technology that melds the touch sensor into the screen, which will take away half a millimetre. Called in-cell, the tech purportedly reduces the space between the screen and the user, which improve image quality.
WSJ says the three companies involved - Japan Display, LG and Sharp are struggling to push out enough of these displays to meet demand.
