Philips to offers ICS smartphone for the Chinese market, touts long battery life

12 July 2012 – Still remember the Gingerbread-based Philips W632? It has been awhile now but the company yet again up to offers another Android device in China. Their latest smartphone the Philips W732 will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

On the hardware front, the W732 has a thickness of 12.3mm and weighs 166.5grams. It features 4.3-inch display screen with 480x800 pixels. It has a 1.0 GHz single-core MediaTek MT6575 processor, 5-megapixels camera, and dual-SIM support.

Among the features of this smartphone, the key selling point will be its battery-life. The smartphone supports a 2,400mAh battery. However, the company claims that their choice of LCD IPS over AMOLED for display should prove a significant difference for longer lasting battery-life. Additionally, with a few other power-saving methods, the company claims that the W732 can last for 10.5 hours of Web browsing.
