11 July 2012 - The mid-end Motorola Atrix is getting a successor, specifically for the AT&T network and the Canadian market. They are similar phones that will of course support LTE, with a 4.5-inch HD Colour Boost 720p display. Inside, they are powered by Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), along with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor.

Their designs also falls in line with Motorola’s recent obsession with Kevlar - both phones' backs are coated with it. The Atrix has a slim 8.4mm chassis which is splash resistant too.

The phones come equipped with an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with 1080p HD capture and playback, along with 720p HD front-facing webcam. There are more traditional connectivity options like HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n support and stereo Bluetooth.

Both Atrixs also share a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, micro-HDMI and microSD expansion slot.

AT&T will be offering the Atrix HD for $99.99 on contract on July 15, while the Atrix HD LTE will be available exclusively via Canada’s Bell
