07 June 2012 – The past weeks have been about the latest 802.11ac WiFi chipset and routers. Taking advantage of that, Broadcom VP Micheal Hurlston introduced the Asus' G75VW as the "World’s first 5G WiFi laptop". This gaming laptop will be pre-installed with the latest WiFi chipset claimed to be capable of supporting speeds in the 800–850Mbps range.
The 802.11ac standard is confirmed by IEEE 802.11 TGac and will be capable of delivering at least 1 Gigabit per second over multi-station WLAN by 2015.
