07 June 2012 – At the Display Week, LG took the chance to show off their 5.0-inch prototype smartphone supporting full 1980x1080 display. That’s a whopping 440 pixels per inch (ppi) (currently the highest ppi available for smartphones-display). The iPad 3's Retina Display has a higher resolution (1536 x 2048 pixels). but LG's  screen has heavier pixel density.

Along with the high ppi density, the display also features AH-IPS (advanced high-performance in-plane switching) claimed to have a far more fluid user-interface experience. However, no actual tests has been done as the display was tightly shut inside a glass case, playing a few pre-recorded videos. Nonetheless, we look forward to the shipping of this stunning display.
