27 June 2012 – The HTC One V was introduced at MWC in February 2012 and the Desire V was announced in June 2012.

The One V and Desire V are running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with the HTC Sense user interface. They are equipped with a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and accept microSD cards up to 32GB. Both devices have a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and offer Beats Audio sound enhancement. A free 25GB cloud storage from Dropbox for two years is applicable for these two smartphones. There is no front facing camera for the One V and Desire V.

The Desire V has a display that is slightly bigger than the One V (4.0-inch vs 3.7-inch), but both phones share the same display resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Despite having a bigger screen, it is a tad lighter than the One V by a gram. In addition, the Desire V is a dual-SIM phone that allows user to fit in two SIM cards (GSM only) into the phone.

On the other hand, the One V comes in a slimmer form factor than the Desire V, making it more portable and easy to keep. Despite being powered by the same clock speed processor as the Desire V, HTC decides to equip the One V with a more efficient processor and a more powerful GPU (Adreno 205 vs 200).

Both phones support HSPA, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

Pricing-wise, the Desire V is a hundred ringgit more expensive than the One V. Hence, the One V is the recommended phone to go for unless you need to use the dual-SIM feature.
