Comparison - Nokia Asha 303 vs Asha 302 vs Asha 300

04 May 2012 – It is the battle of the entry-level Nokia smartphones, from the Asha line - the Nokia Asha 303, Asha 302, and Asha 300.
We start off with a few similarities - they are all powered by 1GHz processor coupled with 128MB RAM. All three devices run on the S40 operating system. They also share connectivity options like HSPA and Bluetooth connectivity.
Similarities aside, the first noticeable difference is in their designs, the 303 and 302 come with QWERTY keyboards but the 300 has a keypad. They have different form factors too, the 303 and 302 have BlackBerry-esque designs but the 300 is reminiscent of the traditional keypad phones.
As for their screens - the Asha 303 has the largest screen of the bunch with a 2.6-inch capacitive screen, while the 302 and the 300 has the same 2.4-inch screen. However, the 302 is a non-touchscreen device while the 300 has a resistive touchscreen.
The 300 is the lightest among its peers at 85 grams, while the 303 is 99 grams and the 302 is the heaviest at 106 grams. As for the camera, both the 303 and 302 are 3.2-megapixel imagers, but the 300 on the other hand has a 5-megapixel camera.
As for built-in storage, the 303 and 302 both have 100MB storage while the 300 has 140MB. All three devices come with a microSD card slot. On the connectivity front, the 303 and 302 has WiFi connectivity, while the 300 does not.
All three devices are priced below RM500, the Asha 303 is priced at RM 495, the Asha 302 is estimated to be priced at RM 386 (95 Euros) and the Asha 300 is estimated at RM 340 (85 Euros). Comparing the 303 (which has the highest price point) against 300 (which has the lowest) - we are looking at a RM155 or 31 percent difference.
We will also compare the prices of the 303 and 302 because of their similarities in design, which gives them a RM109 or 22 percent difference.
So which of these entry-level devices do you choose? The 300 is great for people who crave a familiar design updated with data connectivity with a touchscreen. If you are looking for a budget device with QWERTY keyboards, the 302 and 303 should sate your typing needs. The 303’s touchscreen will give you more options to work with your device as well.

The Nokia Asha 303 was announced back in October 2011. The feature phone combines its 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen with a QWERTY keypad. The Nokia Asha 303 is built with Nokia Browser and other social network apps. The device uses a 1GHz processor, and uses 3G and WiFi connections to deliver better Internet experience. Angry Birds Lite, the popular mobile game, comes preinstalled in the phone.

The Nokia Asha 302 was confirmed during the MWC 2012 event. The feature phone comes with a candybar chassis and a full QWERTY keyboard. It has a 2.4-inch display screen. The key feature of this phone is that it is the first Series 40 phone to support Mail for Exchange, a feature that is usually reserved for smartphones. Other features include a 1GHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB.

The Nokia Asha 300 is a touch device which also offers the convenience of a keypad. The phone comes equipped with a powerful 1GHz processor and 3G to deliver a faster Internet and social networking experience. The Asha 300 is preloaded with the popular Angry Birds game. The Nokia Asha 300 comes with a 5-megapixel camera, a music player, FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity and can handle memory cards up to 32GB. The price will vary by market and operator. The estimated retail price for the Nokia Asha 300 will be approximately 85 Euros (estimated RM370).
