25 May 2012 - According to Microsoft’s Greater Chain COO Michel van der Bel, the launching of the Windows Phone in China is off to a good start, and apparently good enough to have Apple worried. He has claimed that devices like the Nokia Lumia 800c have boosted the Windows Phone to seven percent of the Chinese market, meaning just enough to get six points ahead of the iPhone.

There’s yet to be confirmation of this, as top smartphone makers are hardly depending on Windows Phone, as well as the booming grey market of iPhones in China which might hide actual figures. Then again, there’s also a surge even in iOS and Android-loving Europe, so let’s just see if there’s an increase of Chinese consumers buying the Windows Phone.
