Sony announces Xperia GX and Xperia SX LTE Smartphones for the Japanese market

10 May 2012 – Sony has recently introduced two LTE smartphones to the Japanese market, the Xperia GX and Xperia SX.

Both devices are powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) at launch. They support a download rate up to 75Mbps and come with sound enhancer xLoud for richer audio experience.

The Xperia GX or also known as the Hayabusa has a 4.6-inch Mobile BRAVIA display, a 13-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor R mobile and a 16GB internal storage. The slight curve of the phone’s body does share some resemblance of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

On the other hand, the Xperia SX is the smaller sibling of the Xperia GX, having a 3.7-inch Mobile BRAVIA display, an 8-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor R mobile and an 8GB internal storage. Sony also touted it as the world lightest LTE phone, which only weighs at 95grams.

The Xperia GX and Xperia SX will be available this summer in Japan.
