LG Optimus 4X HD is here at the MWC showfloor

27 February 2012 – After all the wait and teasers, LG Optimus 4X HD finally got official in the MWC2012 event. It is touted as the first official device to come with the 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor (disregarding the teaser by Fujitsu during CES). The chassis is 8.9mm thick with rounded curve at the edge. A bit of letdown considering the too-simple design for what should be a breakthrough for LG smartphones.
The Tegra 3 processor features a 4+1 “Companion Core” design, with a fifth low power core designed to ‘handle simple tasks’ without draining the battery. The 4X HD has a 4.7-inch glass-less IPS touchscreen displaying 720 x 1280 pixels.
It runs on Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. It also has 16GB internal storage and 1GB RAM. The rear-camera shoots 8-megapixels and it has 1.3-megapixel front-facer.
