Lenovo LePhone S2 Android Smartphone

09 January 2012 - Other than tablet announcement, the China-only Lenovo LePhone S2 Android smartphone makes an appearance in CES 2012.
On the surface, the Lenovo LePhone S2 looks like a big rectangular soap bar with curved edges on the top and bottom of the phone. Under the hood, it is powered by a single-core 1.4GHz processor with 512MB or 1GB of RAM. It has a 3.8-inch LCD display with 800 x 480 resolution pixels. It has an 8-megapixel camera.
The WCDMA phone is running on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) with a heavy skinning on top. Lenovo has also tweak the capacitive buttons to recognize gesture to bring up the recent apps menu. The recent apps user interface does share a visual similar resemblance with the WebOS’s deck of cards. However, instead of flicking up to terminate an app, you have tap on the “X” button on the top right corner.
The outright purchase of the LePhone S2 is priced at RMB 2,990 (approx. RM 1500) and it is currently available in China only.
