Comparison - Apple iPhone 4 vs HTC Thunderbolt

The Apple iPhone 4 is a quad-band GSM device, with a CDMA version. The HTC Thunderbolt is mainly a CDMA device, supporting LTE and EV-DO connections as well.
The Apple iPhone 4 weighs 137g and the HTC Thunderbolt weighs 177g. The Apple iPhone 4 displays 640 x 960 pixels onto a 3.5-inch screen and the HTC Thunderbolt displays 480 x 800 pixels onto a 4.3-inch screen. The Apple iPhone 4 is likely to have much better resolution than the HTC Thunderbolt. The HTC Thunderbolt has a bigger screen than the Apple iPhone 4.
The Apple iPhone 4 has a 5-megapixel camera and the HTC Thunderbolt has an 8-megapixel one. The Apple iPhone 4 has a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera while the HTC Thunderbolt has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Apple iPhone 4 uses a 1GHz Apple A4 processor to drive its own iOS 4.x and the HTC Thunderbolt uses a 1GHz Snapdragon processor to drive Android OS 2.2 (Froyo). The HTC Thunderbolt has 768 MB of RAM against the 512 MB of RAM on the Apple iPhone 4.
The Apple iPhone 4 does not have a microSD card slot. The memory of the Apple iPhone 4 is built in 16 or 32 GBs and the HTC Thunderbolt has 8 GBs. However, the HTC Thunderbolt can accept microSD cards of up to 32 GBs.
It appears that the main difference would be that the HTC Thunderbolt has an 8-megapixel camera and an expansion slot for microSD cards. The Apple iPhone 4 has a slightly better display and more built-in memory.
Both the Apple iPhone 4 and the HTC Thunderbolt have its own respective application stores for software. The devices are fairly identical, but the HTC Thunderbolt is a lot cheaper.

The new hardware includes, a front-facing video chat camera, a 5.0-megapixel camera with LED flash, Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad), and an improved display. The phone itself saw quite a few changes- a flat back, an aluminium border around the phone, it is also smaller than the 3GS, has a 16% larger battery and smaller components. The storage capacity of the iPhone 4 remains at 16 and 32GB.
The iPhone 4 has a 960 x 640 pixel display, a secondary microphone for noise cancellation, split buttons for volume, Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic. In addition to the accelerometer, there is a gyroscope for added positional accuracy.
The iPhone 4 connects with Bluetooth, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi.
