by Jonathan Cheah
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S displays 480 x 854 pixels onto a 4.2-inch screen and the Nokia N9 displays 480 x 854 pixels onto a 3.9-inch screen. The Nokia N9 appears to have the better resolution from these specifications.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S uses a 1.4 GHz single-core Qualcomm processor to drive Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread). The Nokia N9 uses a single-core 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor to drive MeeGo.
The Nokia N9 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S both have an 8-megapixel main camera. Both devices also have a front-facing camera, something which the original Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc did not have. The Nokia N9 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S both record video at 1280x720 (720p HD).
The Nokia N9 comes in 16 and 64GB versions and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S has a paltry 512 MBs of storage. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S can accept microSD cards of up to 32 GBs.
The prices for both the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and the Nokia N9 are fairly close. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S appears to have a better processor and a more common Android OS. However, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S also has really pathetic onboard storage which forces you to shell out a bit more for a storage card. I would say that it is pretty even between both these devices.
