Nokia E5 vs Nokia E72

Just as the E72 is the successor model to the E71, so the E5 succeeds the E72. Surprisingly, the newer E5 has an inferior battery, 1200 mAh versus the 1500 mAh of the E72, subsequently the talk time rating has dropped but the standby time has increased. Is it possible that a way has been found to make the device consume less power on standby? We really don't think so.
Both the phones are identical in almost every way, running the Symbian 9.3 OS and utilising 5-megapixel cameras with almost identical features across the board. However, the E72 has a front camera for video calls.
The screen of the E72 is a 16M colour type and the screen of the E5 is a 256K colour type. Include the front-facing camera and it is obvious why the E72 costs a little bit more than the newer E5. It would then come down to whether you want to pay a little but more for a couple of extra features.

Building on the formula from the hugely successful Nokia E71, Nokia's best selling QWERTY device to date, this latest arrival in Nokia's Eseries family maintains essential elements of its predecessor, whilst still improving its capabilities in a number of areas. Nokia also upgraded the camera to 5 megapixels and added a standard 3.5 mm audio jack.
On top of these developments, for the first time, owners will be able to set up instant messaging (IM) accounts provided by Nokia Messaging direct from the homescreen. In just a few steps, device owners will be able to connect to their favorite IM accounts such as Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi, amongst many others.
