HTC Touch Diamond 2, RM 2,599
Kuala Lumpur, 28 April 2009 – HTC unveiled their new flagship device the HTC Touch Diamond 2 in Kuala Lumpur today. The Diamond 2 gets a screen upgrade from 2.8 inches to 3.2 inches, and sports HTC’s latest TouchFLO 3D interface. The device is powered Windows Mobile 6.1.
The TouchFLO’s Single Contact View includes quick access to people, messaging, email, photos, music and weather. The UI is also tweaked to display individual conversation history of contacts, merging voice, text and email into one string of history. Other less interesting features include “HTC Push Internet”, which basically pre-loads your favourite webpages. Also there is Straight Talk, which allows users to immediately conference call the recipients of an email thread.
The Touch Diamond 2 is touted to have 20% larger battery capacity, a 5.0 megapixel autofocus camera, expandable memory, gravity sensor and an ambient light sensor. The device lost the 4GB internal memory (replaced with 512MB ROM) and the touchwheel.
The new HTC Touch Diamond2 will be available from mid May 2009 at all authorised resellers at a suggested retail price of RM 2,599.
