RIM introduces the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in Singapore

BlackBerry Curve 8900 The new BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone features a stylish black finish with chrome highlights. It combines an elegant, compact design with a wide range of popular features and an easy-to-use full-QWERTY keyboard. At approximately 110 grams and 109 x 60 x 13.5 millimeters, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 feels comfortable for either one-handed or two-handed use. It features built-in GPS and supports location-based applications and services. It also allows easy access to social networking sites and has built-in Wi-Fi® (802.11 b/g), making it easier to stay connected to family, friends and colleagues.
In addition to its sleek, stylish design, the powerful new smartphone includes a large, vivid HVGA+ (480x360) display – the highest resolution available on a BlackBerry smartphone – as well as a 512MHz next generation processor for fast and responsive performance. Its spacious keyboard allows easy typing and dialing and the flip design provides the satisfying finality of ending a call by closing the phone. Customers will appreciate the smartphone's external display for previewing calendar reminders, email, text messages and phone calls at a glance, as well as the large, vibrant internal display for viewing web pages, pictures, video and more.
The BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone provides an advanced multimedia experience including a 2 megapixel camera with digital zoom, flash and video recording*, stereo Bluetooth® support and an easily accessible expandable memory card slot for up to 16GB of additional storage per card. Customers can also easily share pictures, check the latest sports scores and post on social networking sites, including Facebook®, Flickr™, and MySpace.com®.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone is expected to be available from SingTel by the end of January. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone will be available from M1, SingTel and StarHub in the first quarter of 2009. Pricing and service plans will be announced by each carrier respectively.
