Two Nokia Eseries launched, E71 and E66
According to Nokia, the S60 powered devices are optimised for e-mail solutions- with both devices sporting a full QWERTY keyboard, and easy to use professional and personal e-mail solutions. The devices are pre-installed with Microsoft Exchange, which allow push email to user accounts, and download attachments like Word, Excel, Powerpoint or PDF files directly to either phone. Both devices also allow up to seven mail accounts to run concurrently.
Both phones support email accounts from more than a thousand ISPs around the world, including Gmail, Yahoo mail and Hotmail.
But as Glen Cha, Product Marketing Manager emphasised the Eseries are called multimedia computers as well, as both devices have converged multimedia functions, from A-GPS, maps, music and media sharing devices. Enterprise functionality for serious users is also available, including a built in encryption functionality for both the device memory and the MicroSD card.
Both devices are also equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and xenon flash. The E71 and E66 have quad-band GSM connectivity, with HSDPA data connectivity up to 3.6 Mbps and Wi-Fi capability.
The E66 is also equipped with an accelerometer that supports landscape and vertical viewing. The accelerometer also gives the phone a flip-to-silent and tap-to-silent functionality. When getting calls, users can flip the E66 on its back to silent calls, tapping the back of the phone will do that as well.
The phones are available in the market immediately, the E71 is available at a recommend retail price of RM 1,950 and the E66 is available at RM 1,995.
