HTC launches two devices in Malaysia –S740 and Touch Viva
Kuala Lumpur, 7 Oct- HTC has launched two smartphones, the S740 and the Touch Viva, right here in Malaysia.
The 2.4-inch QVGA display on the S740 lacks touchscreen when compared to its predecessor,-the HTC Touch Diamond, but does come equipped with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA 3G support for the 900 and 2100Mhz frequency bands, as well as quad-band GSM support, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
One obvious upgrade is the addition of a keypad and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The S740 also features 256MB of internal storage and a 256MB of RAM. A microSD memory card slot provides extra storage room for media files and apps, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth give users extra connectivity options. A-GPS navigation module will be onboard the S740 as well, as well as an FM radio.
The Touch Viva is a parallel to the HTC Touch, the quad-band Viva will carry over the TI OMAP 200MHz processor and 2.8-inch, touchscreen of the original Touch. It will also include Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, a 2.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, new Opera browser and RSS feed reader. Best of all, the phone really does not carry any sparkles in its casing.
The HTC S740 will be available from the end of October, meanwhile the Touch Viva would be available mid-October, at RM 1,999 and RM 1,299 respectively.
