Celcom's New BlackBerry Internet Service Package

Kuala Lumpur- Celcom (M) Berhad introduced their new Internet service package for BlackBerry Internet Service subscribers at Menara Celcom today.

The packages available for purchase are the advance package at RM98 a month and basic package at RM38 a month for postpaid users.

“The BlackBerry Internet Service on Celcom’s network gives today’s business users the power to manage their mobile lifestyle more efficiently and effectively,” said Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly.

The Blackberry Internet Service allows Celcom’s mobile users to enjoy wireless access to their personal email accounts, such as Yahoo mail as well as Gmail, on their Blackberry smartphones. Furthermore, users can also stay connected via instant messaging with Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk and Blackberry Messenger.

The package is however not bundled with the BlackBerry phone, but Shazalli has said that Celcom is considering putting both service and phone together.

The BlackBerry Internet service is an extension of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which was launched by Celcom in September 2006 through Celcom’s partnership with Vodafone. The service caters to the ‘enterprise market’, whereby employees are able to access their corporate e-mail messages on the go in a highly secure environment.

Meanwhile, Celcom’s featured BlackBerry smartphones that are currently available in the market includes the BlackBerry 8707v with 3G enable which retails at RM 2,299 as well as the BlackBerry Pearl which is retailed at RM 1,799. The BlackBerry is available for purchase at all Blue Cube stores.
