Raise your smartphone to activate Google Assistant

Google is making it much easier for Google Assistant to be activated on Android devices. Some manufacturers are including a physical button for it, but Google is intending to make it as simple as just lifting the phone.

That assumes of course, you own either a Pixel 4 or Pixel XL. According to 9to5Google, Google is working on that feature by having users lift their devices and immediately asking a question or issuing a command. The feature has some sort of built-in timer that would require users to say something if they want Google Assistant. After the timer has elapsed, the assistant will not come online as it would assume you do not require it.

In any case, the “Raise to Talk” feature is being developed, so it is unclear if it will be made available immediately when the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL launches.
