Production of new iPhones cut by Apple

According to a report by Wall Street Journal, Apple has lowered orders for its three latest releases in the form of the iPhones, the XR, XS and XS Max. The lower-than-expected demand is being cited as the reason for the lower production.

The issue of low demand is particularly evident for the iPhone XR, based on the report, which stated that Cupertino reduced the number of units being produced by 33%, from the planned 70mn units. Furthermore, on top of that, Apple told suppliers it plans to lower production for the iPhone XR even further.

While this sounds alarming for the company, this isn’t exactly new either, as it has been in a similar situation yet got away with profit.
