Motorola goes budget with the Moto E

If you are in the market for something cheap and hopefully cheerful, Motorola has just launched and made available the second generation of the Moto E, the latest in the company’s line of budget smartphones.

Motorola Moto E

Given that the very first iteration of the Moto E was launched about nine months ago, the 2015 edition is sporting a significant upgrade. Not only is it now bigger at 4.5-inches, it also comes equipped with a poweful processor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor to be precise, which will be paired to 1GB of RAM. There will be 8GB of internal storage onboard, though there is no mention if expansion via microSD cards are supported. It also comes equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, as well as a VGA front facing camera.

Other than that, with regards to design, the smartphone retains pretty much the looks of its predecessor. Furthermore, the Moto E will get the same colourful swappable back covers with six colour options at your disposal. The original Moto E was considered one of the best entry-level budget smartphones for its time, and the Moto E 2015 is set to follow in its footsteps. As far as pricing go, it will retail for for $USD149 (RM 534.09) for the LTE variant, with the 3G models setting you back $USD119 (RM 426.56).  No word as to when it will go on sale of course, though you can definitely expect it sooner than later.
