Xiaomi Redmi 1S & Mi3 sells out in less than 6 minutes
Xiaomi Malaysia has just released its second smartphone into the Malaysian market, and as soon as the Redmi 1S went on sale here it sold out in under 6 minutes.
According to Xiaomi Malaysia’s official Facebook page, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S went on sale at 12 noon local time, and just like its flagship predecessor the Xiaomi Mi3, was out of stock in Malaysia at a staggering rate, this time in 5 minutes and 57 seconds.
Besides the 5000 units of Redmis, Xiaomi also brought in another 8000 units of the Mi3 (priced at RM769), 10,000 units of the uber-in demand 10,400mAh Mi Powerbank (priced at RM36), and another 5000 units of the 5200mAh Mi Powerbank which is going for just RM25. All products that Xiaomi released this time sold out in a matter of minutes, save for the 5200mAh powerbank.
The Redmi 1S has a 4.7-inch IPS display, a 1.6GHz MSM8228 Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel selfie camera, and 2ooomAh battery. Priced just RM419, this one of the best bargains for a new smartphone out in the Malaysian market.
Redmi is the prefix given by Xiaomi to their super affordable device range, which is known as Hongmi in China and also includes the 5.5-inch budget phablet the Xiaomi Redmi Note. The Redmi Note is also coming to Malaysia this month on July 22, and you can expect that demand for this device will be as impressive if not more so than of the Mi3 and 1S- especially at the extremely attractive price point of RM509.
