honor Play Arrives In Malaysia As One Of The Most Affordable Gaming Phones Yet

The first dedicated gaming smartphone has officially landed in Malaysia and the honor Play brings high-performance mobile gaming to the masses with a surprisingly accessible price. Whereas the likes of the Razer Phone and Xiaomi’s Black Shark (which are available via third-party retailers) cost upwards of RM2,000, the honor Play breaks the mould of what a “gaming phone” should cost by only retailing at a far more attractive RM1,249.

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming and plain look. The honor Play does pack a few gaming-centric features that differentiates it from your normal everyday smartphone that can also play the same games. Central to the gaming experience is the new GPU Turbo technology that not only boosts performance by up to 60% but also reduces energy consumption by as much as 30%. Adding to that is a 4D Smart Shock feature that provides console-like vibration feedback which covers 30 different gameplay scenarios on the phone itself for an even more immersive experience. When paired with a wired headset, the phone offers 3D gaming sound effect too. Games like PUBG Mobile (which is optimised for the honor Play) will work best with all these features.

Powering the honor Play is the latest Kirin 970 chipset, the same one powering the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro so a flagship experience can be expected. As everyone who games prefer to see as much of the screen as possible, honor has fitted a large 6.3-inch FullView display with minimal bezels (and a notch) offering 89% screen-to-body ratio. In the imaging department, the honor Play is no slouch either as it gives AI-powered dual rear cameras (16MP + 2MP) paired with a 16MP selfie shooter. Battery capacity is at 3,750mAh.
