BlackBerry KEY2 To Be Available In Malaysia This July 12 At RM2,599

Beginning July 12, you will be able to place your order for the BlackBerry KEY2, the most-advanced BlackBerry smartphone ever. At the retail price of RM2,599, the KEY2 is surprisingly priced lower than its predecessor – the KEYone – when it launched here a year ago, which is a pleasant surprise.

The KEY2 is touting to offer the best physical keyboard typing experience on a smartphone, with a more refined keyboard than the KEYone. Fans of physical keyboard will appreciate the 20% taller backlight keys that come with a new matte finish. On top of that, the keyboards also feature a new fret design and for optimised key spacing.

New to the KEY2 is the Speed Key feature which allows for universal shortcuts from anywhere on the device with 52 programmable options that utilises long and short presses. With them, users can quickly and intuitively jump between apps and actions in an instance by bypassing the need to go back to the homescreen.

No mention of any BlackBerry phone is complete without mentioning about its security features. The KEY2 not only comes preloaded with DTEK by BlackBerry app, but also an improved Locker app for keeping users’ sensitive files and content in private folders, away from prying eyes when the phone changes hands. All the files saved in the Locker private folders will not be uploaded to the cloud. Those who wish to browse the Internet without getting their online activities tracked will appreciate the included Firefox Focus private browser by Mozilla. It is no surprise then that the KEY2 is part of the Google-led Android Enterprise Recommended program that consists of the best and most suitable phones for organisational use.

In the design department, the KEY2 is constructed out of premium materials like the very-durable Series 7 aluminium frame and soft touch back with diamond patterns. The full specs is listed as below.
