To the surprise of no one, Samsung has informed The Korea Herald that a showcase of the Galaxy S9 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2018 is “unlikely.”

Samsung Galaxy S9 Not Really

Instead, Samsung could be showcasing its foldable phone, which is currently known as the Galaxy X. The company has mentioned that before that it plans to launch a foldable smartphone in 2018, a few lucky individuals will be able to bear witness it firsthand. The Galaxy S9 will most likely get unveiled at a dedicated event at the MWC just like all of its predecessors.

The rest of The Korea Herald’s report touches on previous rumours, such as the possibility of an 89-90% screen-to-body ratio and Samsung’s inability to ready an in-display fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy S9. It is said that Samsung has decided to go with a different supplier for the fingerprint sensors on the S9.
