The Samsung Galaxy S9 could launch earlier

According to a reliable tipster, Samsung may release the Galaxy S9 slightly earlier than expected. Apparently, the device could be unveiled ahead of Mobile World Congress in February 2018, although it is worth noting that these rumours make the rounds every year, and as such you should take it with a grain of salt.

Of course, that is not to say that it will not happen. Earlier reports are suggesting that the Galaxy S9 could enter mass production as soon as December 2017. Should that prove to be the case, there is a good possibility that the device will be shown off before the MWC.

Tipster also claims that Samsung has borrowed a number of the iPhone X’s “tricks” for the Galaxy S9. What that feature is remains unknown at this point in time, though there is a high possibility that it will be the facial recognition function.

In any case, even if the Galaxy S9 is announced before Mobile World Congress, it isn’t actually an early launch as both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 were shown ahead of the conference. Only the Galaxy S8 has been late, and this is due to the fact that Samsung was reeling from the disastrous launch of the Galaxy Note 7.
