Samsung to change naming schemes for its flagship smartphone in the future

Reports out of South Korea are claiming that Galaxy X will be the naming scheme for Samsung’s Galaxy S flagship line effective 2019. It is worth mentioning that we are well over year away from the Galaxy S10, so for Samsung to change things up with the tenth Galaxy S flagship, should not be too surprising.

Galaxy X

The reason being brought up, is that Samsung is planning to take on the iPhone X from a marketing angle. The second theory is that names such as Galaxy X, Galaxy XI (or Galaxy X1) look better than the Galaxy S10 or Galaxy SX. Furthermore, the X would fit the Note lineup even better, as Samsung will not have to replace the Note branding.

Given that the Galaxy S9 is not even out yet, it probably no real need to be concerned with its successor just yet. Should Samsung is already planning to go with a new naming scheme, the discussion is probably being had behind closed doors, so this report is not entirely too far-fetched.
