Samsung acknowledges Galaxy Note 8 battery problem

As we have previously reported, a number of Galaxy Note 8 owners have complained about their devices essentially bricking themselves after the battery has been completely drained. The devices are unable to be turned on after being plugged in nor does swapping chargers or starting in safe mode do anything.Certain Galaxy S8+ owners were apparently affected as well.

After offering exchanges without any explaination, Samsung has now acknowledged the Galaxy Note 8 battery issue. It has sent out the following statement which have been machine translated from German, roughly stating that the company is taking all reports seriously. The problem has only however affected a small number of individuals and it cannot comment further at the moment.

A very vague statement to say the least and does not help us in understanding what the issue really is. Hopefully we will get more information sooner than later.
