Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S9 fall below expectations

A report out of South Korea claims that the pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S9 have yet to surpass expectations. As it stands pre-orders for the Galaxy S9 pre-orders are somewhat the same or even slightly less than the Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Not Really

“Customers may be finding the Galaxy S9 not much different from other smartphones,” according to an insider from a South Korea-based mobile carrier who also mentioned that the popularity and interest from customers in the new flagship is not as high as it was for the Galaxy S8.

That is not much of a surprise given that the Galaxy S9 is an evolutionary upgrade rather than a revolutionary one. Early reviews of the device corroborate this as well. Pre-order figures for the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ have yet to be released by Samsung so it remains to be seen if the reports prove true. Samsung has gone on record as saying that it expects pre-orders to be better than before, and only time will tell.
