Meizu X2 renders spotted

Meizu’s always been innovative and it’s one of its selling points. As it’s a Chinese company, China’s patent office is often a good source of information on what Meizu’s working on. New renders of a unnamed smartphone have been spotted, and it’s believed to be the Meizu X2. Schematics have also been found. The design is different from past Meizu phones.

This unnamed one seems to have a secondary display like the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus, with a circular design and placed in the middle of the back panel. This display may only show time, battery and some notifications.

The Meizu X2 is said to be part of the Blue Charm series, a mid-range series. The device has a curved edge design, with the rear camera just above the secondary display. The actual position is likely to be a lot higher than on the renders. The selfie camera is in the center of the display, housed by large bezels. The device also has the trademark mBack button and a USB Type-C.

A reader on Slashleaks also shared photos of this device. It’s not known when Meizu will release this model, but it may not be within this year and be in 2018 instead.
