According to the company, the loss was a reflection of the market’s current state, where component shortages drove up production costs and lowering profit margins, specifically the shortage in memory chip market considered one of the main reasons of the company’s operating loss, a situation that affected other equipment manufacturers.

Lenovo plans to capitalize and focus more on its Motorola Mobility brand moving forward to take advantage of the Moto brand more efficiently. Motorola is planned to release a large variety of handsets in the year that will cover every price category, and is set to perform extremely well in coming months.
