Camera details on the Huawei Honor 10 leak

With a scheduled event for May 15 in London, the Honor 10 is expected to hit Europe soon, with a launch in China on 19 April 2018. Some expected features of the flagship include a Kirin 970 chipset gives AI, 5.8-inch display, 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. Some leaked Honor 10 camera details seem to show some advanced features too.

The same 12MP + 20MP dual camera setup as the Huawei P20 is expected for the Honor 10. The new feature, dubbed “semantic image segmentation mode” is meant to achieve multi-scene detection in a photo. The AI features of the Kirin 970 itself already allows it to recognise objects in the camera, with the new algorithm extending to recognizing more than one feature in a photo as well as determine positions, which allows localized effects and tweaks.

Some leaked sample photos said to be captured by the Honor 10 cameras show the semantic image segmentation works. Comparing the photos, the new feature clearly shows attractive tweaks. This feature could be the one shown in the “Beauty in AI” teaser, but details are not given to confirm.
